This is the live recording of a band rehearsal from December 1982, mixed straight to stereo cassette without any overdubs, resulting in a rough, unpolished sound - and a quite powerful performance.

Three of the songs ("Nur für die Nacht", "Stars und Helden" and "Kein Kriegsheld") were properly re-recorded just a few weeks later for their first album "Das zauberhafte Land". "Chance vertan" and "Das Ende" fell soon out of favour, but "Niemals zurück" and "Balanx" remained in the Zinnförster's live repertoire even years later.

Die Zinnförster Dortmund, Germany

Founded 1982 in Dortmund by the ex-"Outrage" members Gerald Manns (vocals, guitar), Roland Manns (drums) and Hanno Rüther (bass), as well as Bent Recknagel (guitar). In February 1984, Hanno and Bent left the band and were replaced by Alfred Ebert (guitar) and Tom Morgenstern (bass). Andi Adel was added as keyboarder. They mainly played in the Dortmund area and finally disbanded in 1989. ... more
